This picture from 1991 shows Lama Nor’dzin Pamo, Ralzhig Pema Legden and Lama ’ö-Dzin Tridral in maroon to-ngas (yogic waistcoats), shamthabs (yogic skirts) and unelaborate forms of the Dorje Zahorma hat. All Nyingma Lamas wear Lotus-hats of similar shape, in a wide variety of fabrics and symbolic colours, based on the crown of the King of Zahor – given as a token of devotion to Padmasambhava.
