Chhi’mèd Rig’dzin Rinpoche was always well known to Ngak’chang Rinpoche and
Khandro Déchen’s elder disciples for his humour and
for his unequivocal directness. Ngak’chang Rinpoche relates:
When Chhi’mèd Rig’dzin Rinpoche caught a person’s eyes, a few seconds would
seem like a few minutes. Chhi’mèd Rig’dzin Rinpoche had an astonishing variety
of gazes – sometimes they communicated, sometimes they interrogated, sometimes
they challenged, sometimes they just looked from infinity with infinite
tenderness – but whatever the gaze there was always transmission.
