The crisp Western suit that Ngala ’ö-Dzin wears in this photograph was worn on the occasion of the Celebration at the end of the Losar Apprentice Retreat, 2005. The celebration is a joyous event in which one's personal boundaries are challenged through performing for one's fellow sangha members and Lamas in an atmosphere of open and kindly appreciation. Sartorial elegance, of whatever style, is a necessary part of this event. The care taken with one's appearance provides an opportunity for those present to feast upon one's outer expression of form as well as enjoying the truly wonderful performances offered. Internally the fear of challenging one's boundaries is dissolved into emptiness by the certainty that one is being viewed with ‘pure vision’ by those present.
