Here, details from the terrifically wrathful face of Vajra Mamo Tsogyel Tröllö (tshog rGyal gro lod) are clearly visible. Her demeanor blazes rage, but it is the rage that destroys any obstacle to joy and freedom: her inescapable vajra stare turns all impediments to realisation into sub atomic ash so that all beings have the possibility of kindness merriment and freedom; her piercing rightward gaze blazes in violent wrath, scorching the root of dualism. The fierce wisdom eye in her forehead lets no trace of manipulative confusion escape. She bites her lower lip in the clear anger that is beyond subject and object. Her two razor fangs shear through the illusion that form and emptiness can be divided.
Her ferocity relates directly to the nature of Vajra Mamo Tsogyel Tröllö as the manifestation of yeshé cholwa (ye shes ’chol ba), Wisdom-chaos. Yeshé cholwa is the Wisdom-chaos that does not humour duality, does not compromise with duality, does not recognize duality. Yeshé cholwa recognises only the non-dual state in all appearance. It is wisdom that expresses non-duality directly in its own terms, and which can therefore appear to be chaotic from our ‘conventional,’ dualistically distorted point of view.
