In this photograph, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche holds up a Sang-ngak-chö-dzong garuda T-shirt given to him as a present by Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen. Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche is a Bön Lama whom Ngak’chang Rinpoche met in 1988 in Devon, England where Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche was teaching at the time. They discussed their personal traditions and spent an enjoyable afternoon together making momos (Tibetan meat-filled ravioli-type delicacies which are either steamed or fried).
Ngak’chang Rinpoche recalls:
Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche was evidently a master of both spiritual explanation and momo manufacture. I was definitely left behind in the field of momos, and imagine the same would have applied to the field of the Mind.
Ngak’chang Rinpoche has never studied Bön in any depth, but has great respect for the Bön traditions.
