he commanded effortlessly. He seemed old—just old—he wasn’t suffering from old age. He was just old. When he was amused, smiled or laughed, the whole world was filled with happy Chhi’mèd Rig’dzin Rinpoche, and everything was happy. I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to see him. I felt completely intimate with him—like I knew his body and being. It’s too great to believe that I have the great good luck that I seem to have despite
myself.
